This skate was nick-named the Turkey Skate - a first for the TNS. Most folks are out of town this time of year or are busy with other plans, but not this year! Allen led this mystery skate. So where did we go? We did a half loop through Central Park, went up St. Nicolas Ave, across the GWB, and to our usual ice cream stop on Anderson Ave in Fort Lee, NJ. But this time they were closed. Oh no! Don't worry, Kings Hong was open and so we had Chinese food instead! At least some of us did. Back in Manhattan, Riveside Drive was nice and smooth with the new asphalt - awesome! The skate ended at Rockefeller Center where we met the rest of the skaters that dropped out. The ice rink was alive as we watched ice skaters go round and round and round. Up above, the unfinished Christmas tree was surrounded by scaffolding so expect another visit soon for the official lighting! Temp: 50°s F - nice and cool. Total distance skated: 22.7 miles / 36.7 kilometers. See y'all next week! |
